Red Amaryllis and Resurrection

The red amaryllis bud started to open on April 6.

It reached full bloom during holy week.

I love the way the sunlight shines through the petals.

She reaches her full beauty on Good Friday.

Practice Resurrection.

That's a line from Wendall Berry's "Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front."
I practice resurrection when I see what has been brought to life right in front of me.
When I see leaves bright with new green.
When I see velvet petals unfold until they are a burst of brilliance.
How does the amaryllis know when to bloom?
She is acquainted with the mystery of resurrection.
