you keep me
tucked away in tiny places
with tiny thoughts
but i will resist smallness

you keep me
looking side to side
with measuring glances
but i will learn to see

you keep me
tempted with indulgence
filled only fleetingly
but i will push away

you keep me
safely and cooly distant
from the friend
but i will go anyway

you keep me
with stacks of gold
like a lonely king
but i will give it all

you will keep me no more tonight
